Description:
This course provides licensed massage therapists with advanced practical skills in upper body prone shiatsu techniques emphasizing the Bladder meridian and major posterior meridian pathways from the shoulders to the crest of the hips. Participants will refine palm, elbow, and thumb pressure applications, integrate Thai positional release techniques for the back, perform thoracic extension and rotational mobilizations, and incorporate table-based corrective exercises for posture and shoulder stabilization. Instruction combines meridian theory, spinal mechanics, safe positioning, joint protection principles, and hands-on supervised practice to enhance clinical precision and therapeutic effectiveness.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to: Perform shiatsu pressure techniques from the shoulders to the iliac crest using palms, elbows, and thumbs. Identify and apply techniques along the major posterior meridians, including the Bladder meridian. Execute Thai-based positional release techniques for the thoracic and lumbar regions within client tolerance. Demonstrate thoracic extension and rotational mobilization techniques using appropriate stabilization and body mechanics. Instruct and supervise tabletop exercises that promote improved posture and shoulder stabilization. Integrate manual techniques and corrective exercises into a cohesive upper body treatment sequence.
