This class is designed to provide massage therapists the theoretical background and practical skills to provide treatments similar to acupuncture but without needles. Acupuncture has a track record over thousands of years to provide treatments enhancing health and wellness. This course will provide the theoretical basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine and 5 Element Theory and manual application of techniques simulating the insertion of needles but only using the manual technique of acupressure and acupressure with the assistance of tools such as manual points, tuning forks and similar items. Participants will learn how to incorporate these techniques into their practice to promote health and wellness. The class will consist of lectures on theory and demonstration of practical manual techniques of Acupressure for Health and Wellness.

Learning Outcomes:
Students will learn the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine Students will learn the Fundamentals of 5 Element Theory Students will gain an understanding of and be able to map out the meridians. Students will learn the nature of acupoints along the meridians. Students will learn techniques to stimulate the meridians via touch, positioning and stretching. Students will learn techniques to massage the acupoints along the meridians. Students will learn techniques to use manual tools to assist with techniques for the meridians and acupoints.
