Structural Synergy in Motion: Supine Lower Extremity
Instructor: Desmond Slattery, LMT and Bradley Martin, ATC, CSCS, CES
Date: SATURDAY July 18, 2026
Time: 9am-6pm
CE Hours: 8
Location: Got Your Back, 521 E Hector St, Conshohocken PA 19428
Description:
This course provides licensed massage therapists with advanced practical skills in lower extremity supine shiatsu techniques emphasizing the Stomach and Gall Bladder meridians, integrated Thai-based movement within range of motion, targeted assisted stretching protocols (hamstrings – knee bent and straight, piriformis, adductors, IT band), and essential hip mobilization techniques (hip distraction, single-leg traction, inferior hip joint glides). Instruction combines theoretical context, safe positioning, joint protection principles, and hands-on supervised practice to enhance clinical confidence and manual effectiveness.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to: Perform foot shiatsu techniques incorporating range of motion and stimulation of distal acupoints including Liver 3 (Liv 3) and Spleen 6 (Spl 6). Apply two-hand shiatsu techniques along the Stomach meridian utilizing elbow, palm, and finger pressure. Perform shiatsu techniques along the Gall Bladder meridian on the lateral lower extremity. Execute Thai-based movement techniques within the client’s available range of motion. Facilitate manual assisted stretches for hamstrings, piriformis, adductors, and iliotibial band safely and effectively. Demonstrate hip distraction, single-leg traction, and inferior hip joint glides with appropriate body mechanics and joint protection principles.
